Brick donation to Shrewsbury Colleges Construction department.

Shingler Group have donated 4 packs of Bricks to Shrewsbury college with the help of TG Builders Merchants. The bricks were previously ordered for Shingler Group’s Boreatton Fields development in Baschurch but had surplus supply. Instead of returning them, they decided to donate to the colleges Construction department, where their apprentices attend.

The donation saved the college over £1,000 in supply costs and will go towards helping the students develop their bricklaying skills.

Stuart Raine, Shrewsbury College’s Curriculum Director of Construction & Trades and Steven Wainwright, Brickwork Lecturer accepted the bricks from TG’s and Shingler Group along with some students who will use the bricks in their practical work.

Shrewsbury Colleges is where Shingler Group’s apprentices attend a day release for their Bricklaying and Carpentry courses. At the end of their qualification, they receive a level 2 in their chosen trade with the opportunity to advance their skills further if they wish to do so.
